Winston Hollace Wilson, Sr

Winston Hollace Wilson, Sr., 71, of Harlan, KY departed this life on Saturday evening of January 4, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care in Hazard after a brief illness.

Winston was born on September 13, 1953 to the late Virgil Wilson Sr and Mrs. Rosie Wilson Moss of Harlan, KY. He was a tough yet loving and generous person. He grew up believing in the Mormon faith until his later years where he began to follow the Baptist faith.

Winston graduated from Harlan High School and Harlan Trade School. He worked 40 plus years at Lee Furniture as a service repair technician and delivery man until the company went out of business. He also was a skilled Carpenter, Electrician and Mechanic. In his spare time, he repaired appliances and furniture and donated them to those less fortunate or to local churches and businesses.

Winston was proceeded in death by his wife of 47 years, Martha Sue Wilson; Mother Rosie Wilson Moss; Father Virgil Wilson Sr.; stepfather Jimmy Moss; Brothers Arliss Wilson and Virgil Wilson Jr and his wife, Ann. Sisters Wanda Rice and Nancy Jewell Bowling and husband, Don. Nephews Donald Ray Bowling Jr, Jason Wilson, Virgil Wilson III, and James Massengale aka Peanut.

He is survived by his 6 children Billy (Becky) Wilson, Krystal (Teddy) Lawson, Bridget Wilson, Pam (Shawn) Glisson, Arliss Anthony (Krystin) Wilson, and Hollace Wilson. 6 Grandchildren Addisyn and Landon Wilson, Breonna and Aubrey Wilson, Rex Glisson, and Hunter (Shonteen) Ramsey. One Great Grandchild Elisabeth Ramsey. Brothers Larry (Dorothy) Wilson, Denny (Judy) Wilson. A sister in law Beverly Wilson. Ex daughter in law Samantha Wilson; special family friend Holly Landrum. Also, several other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday (Jan. 10) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday (Jan. 10) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Rodrick Major officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Harlan Gas Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside of his beloved wife, Martha Sue.

Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
