William “Bill” L. Gentry, 56, of Smith, Kentucky died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Bill worked 37 years as a shipping clerk for Kentucky Mine Supply. He was a lifelong Harlan County resident and believed in the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death are his mother Lorene Carr Gentry and one sister, Brenda Day.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Combs Gentry of Smith; children, Brad (Charlotte) Gentry of Smith, Angela (Patrick) Richmond of Berea, and Stacy (Daniel) Neff of Cawood; father, Charles Gentry of Harlan; grandchildren, Morgan & Katie Gentry, James and Marissa Richmond, and Dalton Neff; and brothers and sisters, Margaret (Bill) Dean of Loyall, Tony (Mary Lou) Gentry of Cranks, Martha (Bitsy) Humpert of Georgetown, Jacquelyn Clayborn of Coldiron, Mike Gentry, Linda (Daniel) Belcher of Stoney Fork, and Wanda Irvin of Crittenden. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Spencer Burkhart will officiate the services.
Interment will follow the funeral in the Roosevelt Family Cemetery at Smith, KY. Brad Gentry, Bill Dean, Jr., Mark Bushnell, Terry Kirk, Dewayne Williams, Tim Engle, Neal Davis, and Jeremy Kinney will serve as pallbearers. Bill Couch, Heath Scissom, Bill Dean, Sr., James Nantz, and Donnie Hornsby will serve as honorary pallbearers.
