Virginia Jones

Virginia P. Jones, 95 of Harlan passed away Friday September 8, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born May 23, 1922 in Corbin, KY to the late G.H. and Esther McBryarer Parks. She was a retired School Teacher having taught in Florida, Harlan Co., and Harlan Independent School Systems. She was a member of the Harlan Baptist Church and attended Mary Helen United Methodist Church. She served her Lord and Savior, her family, and the many school children she taught over the years. She was Artistic, Articulate, avid reader of the Bible, and generous in her tithes, offering, and gifts to others.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Harry E. Jones who preceded her on Dec. 14, 2016; her sister, Ivle; brothers, Kenneth and Ted.
“Aunt Jenny” leaves those to mourn her passing, brother in law, Robert “Bucky” (Norma) Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday (Sept. 13) after 12:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Haywood officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with Nephews serving as Pallbearers.
