Viola Cooper Cottrell

Viola Cooper Cottrell, 72 of Harlan passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her home.

Viola was born September 13, 1952 in Harlan Co. to the late Denver and Edna Blanton Cooper. She was a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal Faith. She Enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens and was known for her giving heart and was loved by many.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Franklin, Henry, Ray, Lonnie, Sr, and Bob Cooper, Sudie Cooper Cole and Wanda Slaughter.

She is survived by her children, Billy (Amy) Cottrell, Jr, Sheila (Brian) Witt and Melissa (Chuck) Daniels; grandchildren, Alex (Breanna) Haywood, Jordan Bryant, Gary Lynn (Charli) Bryant, Jr, Luke and Jesse Cottrell; great grandchildren, Cylann Bargo, Audrey and Aria Haywood, Reighlyn and Walker Lynn Bryant; her brothers, Donald (Rhonda) Cooper, Glen Cooper and Michael Cooper; sister, Margie (Bob) Sands; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday (Feb. 1) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm Saturday (Feb. 1) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Martin & Rev. Mark Hisle officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.

Pallbearers will be Denver Cooper, Wesley Cooper, Donnie Cooper, Jerry Cooper, Alex Haywood, Gary Bryant, Jr, Jordan Bryant, Luke Cottrell and Jesse Cottrell.
