Verda M. Gross Saylor of Corbin, formerly and well-known restaurant business lady of Harlan for many years entered here heavenly promotion to her spiritual eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2016.
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
Verda portrayed a legacy of pure beauty, a lovely lady, rich with many friends and family that always held dear her warm hospitality and hearty meals. Being a proud mamaw, the highlight of her day was a loving touch and kind word, the wellness and prosperity of her darling grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Being from a large family, she is preceded in death by her parents, Margie Hensley and Alfred Gross of Harlan and husband Leroy Saylor, also many other beloved family members.
She leaves a host of loved relatives and friends to keep the cherished fond memories. Among them are son, Gary Saylor of Corbin; two grandchildren, Cassandra (Ryan) Windham of Churchill, TN and Derrick (Megan) Saylor of Lynch, KY; four great-grandchildren, Brycen Anthony Saylor, Brody Lee Saylor, Jenah Windham, and Max Windham; sisters, Joyce Asher of Helton, Betty Bennett of Harlan, and Melissa Gross of Radford, VA; brothers, Earnest Brock of Bledsoe, Ephie Hensly, Jr. of Bledsoe, Wilkie Hensley of Helton, and Cammie (Bo) Caldwell of Helton.
Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM. Reverends Ted Brock and Cammie “Bo” Caldwell will be officiating.
Interment will be Saturday, December 3 at 1:00 PM (meet at funeral home at 12:30 for procession) in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
