Tommy C. Saylor, 64, of Jay FL died Wednesday April 30th. He was the son of the late Quinton and Hattie Saylor of Rosspoint and brother of the late Phyllis Saylor Hubbs. He graduated from Cawood High School in 1967. Tommy served two tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army and received many commendations, including three Bronze Stars with the “V” device for valor and a Purple Heart.

Tom, his wife Linda, and family lived in Pensacola, FL for 15 years where he worked for the Navy Aviation Depot after earning two degrees from Pensacola Junior College. He transferred to Cherry Point, NC in 1994, retired from civil service in 2009, then moved to Jay.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Seals Saylor, and four children. Brooke Saylor and Adam Saylor of Havelock NC, Jenna (Jacob) Kimmis of New Bern NC, and Matthew Saylor of Jay, FL and one grandchild Thomas Kimmis. He is also survived by his sister, Audrey (Gerald) Morrison of Pensacola, FL. Sister in-law Brenda (Junior) Cox of Knoxville, TN, Sherry Bingham of Harlan, KY and Jerry (Lola) Seals of Cawood, KY and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services and burial with military honors were held Sunday May 4 at Berrydale Baptist Church near Jay.
