Stephen Combs, 58, of Smith, KY passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY.  Born August 14, 1956 he was a native of Hazard, Kentucky.  He was a retired coal miner and enjoyed doing mechanic work on cars.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Basil and Eula Combs and three brothers Eldon, Andy, and Scott Combs.

Surviving are his wife, Shelia Combs; one son, Luther (Kellie) Combs of Sunshine, KY; three daughters, Kimberly Combs of Wallins, KY, Amber Combs of Wallins, KY, and Sarah Combs of Smith, KY; six grandchildren, Justin Edwards Anna Edwards, Chelsey Combs, Stephanie Lawson, Ethan Combs, and Rylan Combs; one brother, Seldon (Mary) Combs of Putney, KY; four sisters, Zola O’Roark of Jacksboro, TN, Cathy (Bud) Middleton of Smith, KY, Angelia Smith of Smith, KY, and Beverly (Bill) Gentry of Smith, KY; and special friends Richard Barnard and Justin Renfro.  Several Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends will also mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.  The Rev. Gary Craig, Sr. will be officiating the services.

Interment will follow the funeral in the Mary Helen Cemetery.  Luther Combs, Justin Renfro, James Harris, Nick Young, Richard Barnard, and Philip Begley will serve as Pallbearers.
