Stella Williams

Stella Mae Williams, 97 of Cumberland passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Tri Cities Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Williams was born in Exeter, VA on April 20, 1921 to the late John Riley and Bessie Allen Halcomb. She was a homemaker and 66 year member of the Central Baptist Church in Cumberland. She was very active in her church and was Secretary of WMU. She enjoyed working in her flowers and loved her family dearly.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Williams, Jr.

She is survived by her loving children, Randy (Kim) Williams of Cumberland, John David (Charlene) Williams of Lexington, Sandra (John) Petrey of Louisville, KY, Brenda (Mike) Roberts and Pam (Bob) Smith all of Cumberland; grandchildren, John Petrey, Jr, Mike Petrey, Jenny Smith, Jonathan Williams, Jamison Williams, and Joseph Williams; great grandchildren, Sarah Petrey, Kathryn Petrey, Lauren Petrey, and Elizabeth Petrey; 1 sister, Marie Rogers of Pontiac, MI; special neighbors, Misty, Ron, and R.J. Hensely, and Alicia Paul. She leaves a host of other family members, friends and her church family to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday (July 1) at the Central Baptist Church, Cumberland with Rev. Roger Colinger officiating.

Burial will be 11:00 am Monday (July 2) at the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram, KY. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren. Family and friends are asked to meet at Central Baptist Church by 10:30 to go in procession to the cemetery.

Visitation will be after 2:00 pm until the funeral hour on Sunday (July 1) at the Central Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Central Baptist Church, Building Fund, in memory of Mrs. Williams.
