Shirley Turner

Shirley Turner, 74 of Baxter passed away on Friday evening of November 29, 2019 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.

Shirley was born March 6, 1945 to the late Hayes and Mary Stewart Pennington.  She was a homemaker, who enjoyed taking care of her family especially her kids and grandchildren. She believed in the Church of God Faith.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Clarence Anthony Turner; brothers, John Henry, Olin, and Marion Pennington; her sisters, Opal Howard and Retha Goforth.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Turner; her children, Tim (Joy) Pennington, Angela Turner, and Regina (Jamie) Roberts; grandchildren, Kenny (Alex) Pennington, Autumn (Nick) Cornett, Cade Pennington, Jeffrey Gambrel (Brittany Harris), Justin Gambrel, and Noah Roberts; great grandchildren, Piper Gilliam, Slate Cornett, Carli Gambrel, Adallyn Gambrel, and Jeffrey Gambrel; brothers; Owen (Mallie Jean) Pennington, Hayes Pennington, Jr, and Leeroy (Linda) Pennington; sisters, Yvonne (Bill) Pennington; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Sunday (Dec. 1) at the For God’s Glory Ministries and Fellowship Center located on Airport Road, Baxter, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday (Dec. 2) at the Church with Pastor Jamie Roberts, Noah Roberts, and Rev. Don R. Chavis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery at Rosspoint, KY with Grandson’s serving as Pallbearers.
