Shirley Lewis was born February 19, 1935 in Rosspoint, Kentucky and went to heaven, September 20, 2017 at his home after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Browning Lewis; his precious son, Jamie Lewis; parents, John M and Mossie Lewis; his brothers, Orville Lewis, Carl Lewis and Douglas Lewis; and sister, Nellie White.

He is survived by his children, Ken (DI) Lewis,  Pam (Paul) Dean, Tammy (Joel) Coots, Gary Lewis, and David (Lisa) Lewis; daughter-in-law, Treva Lewis; brothers, Green Lewis, Jack Lewis, Harmon Lewis, Oral Lewis, and Larry Lewis; sisters, Mary Rosselot, Mabel Anderson, and Lois Bryant; brother-in-laws, Charles Browning; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-granchildren.  A host of Nieces and nephews who loved him dearly a well as his church family also survive.

Shirley worked for 15 years at Atwood Tool and Die Company in Rockford, Illinois.  He also for many years as a coal miner at Highsplint and other coal mines.  He was a member of the Jones Creek Church of the Living God.

Visitation will be at Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00 PM Saturday, September 23, 2017 and after 11:00 AM Sunday at the Jones Creek Church of the Living God.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Jones Creek Church of the Living God.  Rev. John Luttrell, Rev. Bill Moore, and John Pridemore will officiate the services.

Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral in the Evarts Memorial Gardens.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Men of the church will serve as honorary Pallbearers.
