Ronald H. Cole, 70, of Wallins Creek, Kentucky passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 25, 2024.
He was born on May 27, 1953 to the late Bill and Ova Cole. Ron was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the Air Force, as well as in the Harlan National Guard for over 30 years. He was also a girls and boys elementary/middle school basketball coach for over 25 years. He believed in the Baptist faith. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren and being there for them for any activities they were a part of, even having coached both grandsons. He also loved to fish and play cards with his buddies.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his only sibling; Billy Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years; Josie Cole, his children; daughter, Lisa (Boss) Saylor, son, Jeff (Ashley) Cole, and daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Collins. Also surviving are his grandchildren whom he loved better than anything; Tyler and Trenton Cole, Hailey and Leah Collins, and Sadie Saylor. He is also survived by his sister-in-law; Lisa Cole, and her children, as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday (April 27) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow on Saturday (April 27) at 7:00 PM at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Mitch Huff officiating.
Burial will be Sunday (April 28) at 2:00 PM in the New Creech Cemetery in Wallins, Kentucky. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Collins, Boss Saylor, Tyler Cole, Trenton Cole, Tom Polson, and Darrell Wilson.
