Roger Dale Mitchell

Roger Dale Mitchell, 72 of New Tazewell, TN formerly of Cawood, KY passed away peacefully Tuesday evening of December 3, 2024 at the home of his sister following a brief illness.
Roger was born June 22, 1952 in Cawood, KY to the late McKinley and Emma Osborne Mitchell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany during Vietnam War. He was retired from the Steel Mills in Illinois, in his retirement he enjoyed spending time at the lake.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Meril, Arthur, McKinley, Jr and Terry Mitchell.
He is survived by his sons, Richard (Loretta) Mitchell and Harold (April) Mitchell; grandchildren, Richard, Jr, Mark, and Kloee Mitchell, Ivy and Riley Mitchell; his brothers, Danny Mitchell and Dennis (Kristy) Mitchell; sisters, Brenda (Jim) Brackett and Jolene (Quentin) Farley; special brother, Willy Tinsley; he also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews including 3 special great nieces; Chey, Shasta, and Paislea Brackett.
Visitation will be Sunday (Dec. 8) from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 South 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831.
Graveside services will follow the visitation at the Mitchell Family Cemetery in Cawood. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
