Rev. Ellis Hoskins, Sr

Rev. Ellis Hugh Hoskins, Sr., 86, of Harrogate, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at the Lafollette, TN.

Rev. Hoskins was born November 22, 1929 to his father and mother Rufus and Roseanna Hoskins.

Rev. Hoskins was a member at Eagle Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Shawanee, TN. and was ordained as a minister at Shawanee Missionary Baptist Church on July 23, 1962. He pastored 10 churches in his ministry including: Northside Missionary Baptist Church, Harmony Baptist Church, Midway Baptists, Meldrum Missionary Baptist Church, Providence Baptist Church, East Pineville Baptist Church, Duncans Chapel, Haynes Flat, Central Baptist, and Crouches Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He was retied with South Central Bell and served his country in the United States Army where he was a master sergeant and he trained in the 11th Airborne Ranger Division and 45th MECZ Calvary.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Roseanna Hoskins, baby son Steven Michael Hoskins, brothers Herbert Hoskins, Asher Hoskins, sisters, Edna Hoskins, Ada Potter, Dorothy Hodge, Doris Douglas, and Marylee Hoskins.

He is survived by the following members of his family:

Children: Rev. Randy Ellis (Charlotte) Hoskins of Kenvir, KY., Larkin (Kathy) Hoskins of Powell Valley, TN., Ellis (Connie) Hoskins, Jr. of Rose Hill, VA., Dannie (Tammy) Hoskins of Harrogate, TN.

Sisters: Bobbie Jean Greene of Bowling Green, KY. and Sue Elam of Cleveland, OH.

Grandchildren: Terina (James) Edington, Angela (Tim) Kincaid, Ellis (Jessica) Hoskins III and Charles Douglas Hoskins, Ashley (Johnathan) Simmons, Wesley Hoskins, Savanna Hoskins, Madison Hoskins, Zachary Hoskins, and step-grandson Jason (Tina) Miracle.

9 Great-Grandchildren: Michael (Erin) Hoskins, Alex Edington, Scott Kincaid, Emily Kincaid, Ellis Hoskins, IV., Asher Hoskins, Avery Simmons, and Clark Bolton.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016, at the Eagle Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Huddleston and Rev. Truman Partin officiating. Music will be provided by the Eagle Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Interment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Hoskins Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Ellis Hoskin, III., Wesley Hoskins, Mike Hoskins, Alex Edington, Johnathan Simmons, James Edington, Jason Miracle, and Zachary Hoskins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016, at the Eagle Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
