Retha Sergent

Retha C. Sergent, 88 of Rosspoint, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord after a hard fought battle with cancer on Monday, November 27, 2017, one month after her 88th birthday.  She was a member of the Poor Fork Church of Christ for over 50 years.  She Loved her family, she loved gardening and cooking.  She had worked at Newberry’s, Cumberland Valley Music, and the fabric department at Wal-Mart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Finley and Maggie Cornett; brother, Riley Cornett; and husband, Guy Sergent, Sr.

Surviving are her children, Guy Jr. (Debbie) Sergent, her beloved grandchildren,  Brook (Ryan) Clem, Erica Casey Sergent, and Ryan Sergent; sisters, Dorothy Ditty and Claudia Barnes; special friends, Pat & Jack Anderson, Shirley Huff, and Karen Sergent; and her beloved church family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Danny Yonker officiating.

Interment will be Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Howard Cemetery at Rosspoint, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 2972 S. US 25E, Barbourville, KY 40906.
