Mr. Phillip Carroll, 78, was born on November 8, 1945 in Pineville, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Harlan High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. Phillip was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golf, horse racing, and all things associated with the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Phillip was a small business owner with several successful ventures. He was best remembered for his work with C & C Associates servicing the power needs of the coal mines. Phillip retired to Florida and enjoyed many rounds of golf. He eventually moved back to Lexington, Kentucky and remained a resident there until his health began to fail. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Phillip was a professed Christian and spoke often of his faith. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Phillip was proceeded in death by his parents, Ollie and Marie Carroll both of whom he cherished. He is survived by his two sons: Dr. William (Cecelia) Carroll of Somerset, Kentucky and Jon Carroll (Ashley Samson) of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Lilly, Chloe, Avery, and Forester Carroll; two brothers: Bob Carroll and Winston (Susan) Carroll; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday (Feb. 17) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Saturday (Feb. 17) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Morris officiating.
Burial will follow on Saturday (Feb. 17) in the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, Kentucky.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Harlan Little League in memory of Phillip.
