Pearl Bassham “Bass” Osborne, 85 of Jeffersonville, IN formerly of Wallins passed away Saturday Dec. 17, 2016 at his home.

“Bass” was born March 9, 1931 in Wallins to the late E.W. Osborne, Sr and Betty Noe Osborne. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was retired after 38 years with Jeff Boat in Jeffersonville, IN. He enjoyed working on cars and was a devoted family man. Although he had lived in Jeffersonville for 57 years he always considered Wallins home and kept a house here so he could always return. He attended the Kentenia Full Gospel Church and Wallins Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Blanton Osborne; brothers, E.W., Jr, Earl, Olin, Bob, and Otis Osborne; sisters, Alene Goins, Edith Tincher, and Evelyn Sliger.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Betty (Peter) Cottril of New Albany, IN, David (Sandra) Osborne of Lebanon Junction, KY, Robert (Kim) Osborne of Jeffersonville, IN, and John W. Osborne of Jeffersonville, IN; sister, Mary Lou (Terry) Blair of Miamisburg, OH; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday (Dec. 20) at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church, Wallins, KY with Rev. Ed Houston and Rev. Freeman Clark officiating.

Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery on Platt’s Fork in Wallins with Military Rites being observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Harlan Honor Guard will serve as Pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday (Dec. 19) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 South 3rd St. Harlan, KY 40831.

Flowers are welcomed, but memorials can be made to the Hosparus, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Dr. Louisville, KY 40205 in memory of  Pearl Bassham Osborne.
