Norma Cornett

Norma Jean Owens Cornett, 69 of Loyall passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Harlan ARH.
Norma was born October 4, 1951 in Harlan to the late Lamon and Helen Owens. She began working for Hackney Jellico right out of high school. She then went to work for the Harlan National Bank as a loan officer. She retired from what is now BB&T. She was a devoted wife and caregiver to her husband of 49 years, Nick Cornett.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Tommy Owens; two sister in laws, Ina Estes Owens and Pauline Owens.
She was the loving, caring mother and grandmother to her daughter, Angela Cornett (Joe Bill) Baker and son, Greg Cornett; grandsons, Nicholas (Autumn) Cornett, Andrew Baker, & Jacob Baker; great grandchildren, Slate Cornett, and Piper; one nephew/godson, Justin (Paige) Owens; brothers, Jerry Owens, and Ronnie (Donna) Owens; sister, Mary (Garnett) Howard; She is also survived by her sister in laws, Trenna Cornett of Loyall and Sue Owens of Knoxville, TN; a special friend, Billie Jean Wilder. Norma was precious, loved and will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A private visitation and funeral will be held Sunday (Feb. 7) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Hyden officiating.
Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery at Rosspoint, KY.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Baker, Nicholas Cornett, Jacob Baker, Justin Owens, Carter Barnes, Kevin Howard, and Randy Daniels.
