Michael Roberts

Michael L. Roberts, 68 of Cumberland passed away on the early morning of Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Mike was born September 25, 1950 in Lynch, KY to the late, Ted and Bernice Hensley Roberts. A lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities, he was a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Education, Bachelors Degree in Business at Lincoln Memorial University. He was a retired coal miner with 11 years of service at US Steel and Arch of Kentucky, 15 years with Cumberland Mine Service. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Fan, and attended Central Baptist Church in Cumberland.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Ted and Bernice Hensley Roberts; his father and mother in law, John and Stella Mae Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Roberts of Cumberland; brother, Gerald (Regina) Roberts of Lynch, KY; sister, Debbie (Wayne) Creech of Cumberland; grandsons, Carter and Cade Barnes; special nieces, Tracy Bailey and Christie Fields, and Jenny Smith; special nephew, Jeremy Creech; he leaves other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm Saturday (September 29) at the Central Baptist Church, Cumberland.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the Church with Rev. Roger Colinger officiating.

Burial will follow in the D.L. Creech Cemetery in Cumberland, KY with Grandsons, Nieces, and nephews serving as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Barnes, Bob Smith, Bill Fields, Randy Williams, and Wayne Creech.
