Michael Abner, 55 of Harlan passed away suddenly on Wednesday Nov. 29, 2017 at the Harlan ARH.
Mikey was born Aug. 21, 1962 in Harlan. He was best known for digging graves throughout Harlan County for over 35 years for various funeral homes, most recently a true, loyal, and valuable employee of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. He had been a member of the Sunshine Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Abner and Mary Evelyn Glisoni Taylor; his grandmother, Alpha Glisoni; brother, Tommy Abner; step father, Billy Joe Taylor;
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lively Abner; children, Kathy Rice, Fonda (Gary Ray) Creech; grandchildren, Kaleb Abner, Cameron Upchurch, Raylyn Creech; brothers, Jonathan (Melissa) Abner, Billy (Cathy) Stephens; sisters, Donna (Mike) Perkins, Cathy (Mitchell) Coldiron, Debbie (Marvin) Salleng; special cousins, Cathy Laws and Scotty Stephens, special nephew, Tony Abner, he leaves other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his former boss who was like a father figure and was best known as “Pappy”, Jim Rich, Sr.
In keeping with Mikey’s wishes all services will be private.
