Mc,Kinley “Ken” Grubbs, 73 of Cawood passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Holston Valley Medical Center from a long illness.

He was born May 10, 1942 in Little Creek at Cawood, to the late Blane and Sudie Swanson Grubbs. He was a disabled coal miner.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wayne Grubbs; 3 brothers, Harvey, Haywood, and Franklin Grubbs; 4 sister in laws, Darcus and Geneva Grubbs, Faye Lowe, and Joyce Hamlin; 2 brother in laws, Bill Haynes, and Clayton Lowe; mother in law, Ethel Green Eldridge; nephew, Rick Ruark.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda Eldridge Grubbs; son, Michael (JoAnn) Grubbs; 2 daughters, Victoria (Winston) Brite, Georgiana (Doyle) Perkins all of Cawood; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Brite, Kevin Napier, Tabatha Brite, April (Justin) Burke, Blane Grubbs, Megan Grubbs, Kenneth “Joey” Grubbs, Alexis and Zachery Perkins, Adam Grubbs; 3 great grandchildren, Ryland Burke, Allison Noe, and Brannon Gauge Noe; 5 brothers, Louis, Laurance, Carl, George, and Oscar (Darlene) Grubbs; a special friend who was like a brother to Ken, Otis Doan, Jr.; 4 sisters, Bonnie Haynes, Mae (Don) Ruark, Pauline (Bill) Mc,Ewaine, Dixie (Lyndell) Davidson; brother in law, Vernon Hamlin; sister in laws, Jean (Charlie) Tomlin, Veda Gayle (John) Burke; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Wednesday (May 11) from 5 – 8:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating.

Graveside services will be 12:00 pm Thursday (May 12) at the Grubbs Family Cemetery, Nola St in Cawood, KY. Grandsons and Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
