Marlie Sullivan, 70 of Harlan passed away Saturday Jan. 21, 2017 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center.
Marlie was born Sept. 19, 1946 in Harlan to the late Homer Sullivan and Omega Caldwell Sullivan Gross. He was a retired coal miner after 15 years of service and believed in the Pentecostal faith.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his step father, Morgan Gross; brothers, J.C. Sullivan, Darrell Sullivan, Donald Gross; sisters, Ruth Baker and Glenda Ball.
He is survived by his son, Marlie Ray (April) Sullivan; grandchildren, Beronica Short, Marlie Ray Sullivan, Jr, and Sara Sullivan; brothers, Homer “Duker” Sullivan; sisters, Mavis Caldwell, Gail Greene Carter, Reva Sullivan Farley, Fredia Williams, and Janice Middleton; step brothers, Gary Gross, Morgan Gross, and Gordon Gross; step sister, Sharon Wilders. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday (Jan. 23) at the Cornerstone Community Church in Baxter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday (Jan. 24) at the Cornerstone Community Church with Rev. Robert Keith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins.
