Marion Slusher, 74 of Wallins passed away early Monday morning of December 17, 2018 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY.
Marion was born on January 16, 1944 in Wallins, KY to the late Walter and Lida Mae Jones Slusher. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served his country during Vietnam. He was a coal miner by trade and believed in the Holiness Faith.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Janie Long Slusher who passed away on June 5, 2018.
He is survived by his sons, James (Jennifer) Skidmore and Johnny Skidmore; 5 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter; his brother, Bobby (Diane) Slusher; Aunt & uncle, Darlene and Verlin Lee; sister in law, Freda (Vernis “Pot”) Blevins; brother in law, Ron (Nina) Long; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday (Dec. 19) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Carmical officiating.
Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery at Happy Top with Military Rites being observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
