Lucy Helton

In His infinite love and compassion, Jesus sent his angels to escort our beloved mother to her heavenly home to live with Him forever.   Although we will miss her tremendously, we are rejoicing that she is now free from pain and celebrating with her loved ones on the other side.

Lucy Gray Helton, Cawood, KY  was born in Louisville, KY, on February 28, 1935 to William N. and Ellen (Lawson) Gray.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Helton, her daughter, Eulagray McHargue, Son-in law, Claude (Bud) Mchargue, her son, Ted Helton and her granddaughter, Melissa Camarillo,

Her brothers:   James C. Gray, William Gray, Mason Gray, Carroll Gray, Ernest Gray, Johnny Gray, Frank Gray, Harry Gray, Milton (Bud) Gray and Jack Gray.

Her sisters:  Mayme Marcum, Nellie Turner and Ellen Williams.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her children:  Elaine (Rick) Camarillo, Floresville, TX, Janice (Chris) Stringer, Cawood KY, Johnny (Chris) Helton, Cranks, KY and Joy (JR) Harris, Cranks, KY.

Her Grandchildren:  Jonathan McHargue, Theo McHargue, Rik Camarillo, Caleb Helton, Christa Stringer, Josh Helton, Rikki Middleton, John Helton, Jordan Harris and Alison Harris, and several great-grandchildren.

She also leaves her much loved nieces and nephews and her many friends, especially her friends from Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she was a very active and  dedicated member, playing the piano, teaching Sunday School and working with the Quilting Club for many years.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 2nd, at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at The Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 with The Reverend Sean Daniels officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery in Cawood.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor her memory may make a donation to The Friendship Baptist Church, The Harlan Mission Outreach, or the Fields Cemetery, all of which were dear to her heart.
