Lloyd Wilson, 86 of the Straight Creek Community in Bledsoe passed away Saturday June 28, 2014 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard.
Mr. Wilson was born April 6, 1928 in Harlan Co., KY to the late Chester and Addie Howard Wilson. He believed in the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church on Straight Creek. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served his Country during the Korean War.
Besides his parents he is preceded his wife Myrtle Wilson; sisters, Naomi Forester and Mabel Wilson; brothers, Homer Wilson, Noah Wilson, Grover Wilson, and Virgil Wilson.
He is survived by his sons, Douglas (Rachel) Wilson of Harlan; Bobby (Bertha) Wilson, Danny Wilson, and Harold Wilson all of Bledsoe; his daughter, Conya Wilson of Bledsoe; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; 1 sister, Esther Bowers of Chicago, IL.
Visitation will be Tuesday (July 1) from 6 until 8:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday (July 2) at the Wilson Family Cemetery at Straight Creek with Rev. Larry Toner officiating. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
