Lela Burgess

Lela Pauline Burgess, 89 of Coxton, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Harlan ARH.

Lela was born December 7, 1930 at Coxton, Ky to the late Jesse and Jerushia Crider Kinder. She was a homemaker and member of the Ages Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell L. Burgess; brothers, Ernest and Eugene Kinder; sisters, Lois Peace, Shelby Jean Brock, Hazel Kinder, and Virginia Kinder.

She is survived her sisters, Agnes Strunk of Novi, MI, Juanita Winger of Crookston, MN, Evelyn Jones of Orlando, FL, Patricia Engle, Kentucky, and Judy Williams of Baxter, KY; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews other relatives to mourn her passing. The family wants to give special thanks to Sharon Morgan, Carla McKendrick, and Sherry England of the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday (July 29) at the Ages Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jesse Kinder and Rev. Wayne Huff officiating.

Burial will follow in the Boggs Family Cemetery in Ages, KY.

Visitation will be after 10:00 am until the funeral hour Wednesday (July 29) at the Ages Pentecostal Holiness Church.
