Laura Reams

Laura Feledra “Tookie” Howard Reams, 76, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 12, 2017 with her family and loved ones by her side.

She was born May 18, 1940 in Harlan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Frye and Octa Maugins Blanton Howard.

She was a graduate of Wallins Creek High School and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received a Master’s Degree in Interior Design. She taught at Morehead State University and retired as a space planner at Ashland Oil.

Survivors include her husband, C. Alan Reams of Ashland; daughter, Laura Melissa Jent (Barry) of Ashland; son, Billy Maurice Dixon (Renee) of Marietta, GA; step-sons, Chris Alan Reams (Tami) of Winter Haven, FL, and Billy Gene Reams of Lakeland, FL; brother, John Robert Howard (Betty) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Marlana Sue Hatton (Larry) of Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Lauren Shea Fannin and Christian Drew Fannin and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital ICU and Community Hospice, for the exceptional care Feledra received during her final days.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Calvary Episcopal Church with The Reverend TJ Azar officiating.

Graveside services will be held Noon Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Park-Howard Cemetery, Wallins Creek, KY.
