Josephine Gilbert

Josephine Brittain Gilbert, 97 of Teetersville, KY passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 21, 2017.
Mrs. Gilbert was born June 22, 1920 to the late Ezekiel and Laura Smith Brittain. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Loyall, the Daughters of American Revolution, and the Order of Eastern Star.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Smith Gilbert, who preceded her on December 7, 2016; her sisters, Nellie, Chloe, and Martha Ellen; brothers, Carlo, Ray, Carr, and Elmer.
Mrs. Gilbert leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Larry (Gail) Gilbert of London, Linda (Joseph) Renfro of Flat Lick, Patrick (Rosemary) Gilbert of Harlan; grandchildren, Kevin and Kelli of London; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A private family service was conducted Monday (Oct.23) in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Green officiating. Burial followed in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
The family suggests any memorials be made to one’s favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Gilbert.
