John Chester "Pappy" Napier, 80 of Cranks, KY passed away Sunday afternoon of March 13, 2022 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
Chet was born April 12, 1941 in Smith (Stone Mountain) KY to the late James Fredrick Napier and Martha Elizabeth Wilson Napier. He was a retired coal truck driver and member of the Cranks United Methodist Church where he had served over 30 years as the bus driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sitting under his tree, but above all he loved family, friends, and kids.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lou Anna "Granny" Day Napier; his son, Bobby John Napier; siblings, Albert "Buster" Napier, Sarah Emily Davis, C.F. Napier, Billy Napier, Mary Edith Poe, and Mildred Daniels.
Hs is survived by his children, Sherri Napier of Cranks, Marjorie Napier of Mississippi, and John Duke Chester Napier of Cranks; grandchildren, Ricky (Amber) Napier of Putney, Dedra Napier of Cranks, and Jet Napier of Missouri; great grandchildren, Adryianna and Haydenn Phillips of Cranks, John Zachery and Madeline Napier of Putney; 1 sister, Sally (Tommy) Jones of Pathfork; special friends, Harvey Stevens, Bobby Simpson, Clyde Daniels, Katherine Napier, and Tom Poe; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and his special children throughout the community.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Hensley Cemetery at Smith, KY with Rev. Stanley Blevins and Jody Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service.
