Joanna Vandagriff

Joanna Vandagriff, 66 of Cranks, KY went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 12, 2024 following a brief illness with her family by her side.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she continuously loved and served her husband, her family, and everyone else who had the pleasure of making her acquaintance. She served as Registered Nurse at Harlan ARH for more than 30 years prior to her retirement, where she extended that same servant's heart to her patients daily. She was an avid cook and baker who prepared meals daily not just for family but anyone who wanted to stop by and visit. She delighted in being able to provide a loving meal to anyone who needed it. Her holiday meals were community events; usually feeding far more than just immediate family, but instead providing for the entire community.

Mrs. Vandagriff was born July 14, 1957 in Cranks, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Simon and Claudie Hall King. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Doil Wayne Vandagriff; her siblings, Curtis, Janice, Georgia, Jesse, Sylvester, Henry, and Simon Jr;

She was the loving wife of Doil Vandagriff for the past 27 wonderful years; In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael Lewis and spouse Reva, Ryan Lewis and spouse Lauren, Vernon Dale Vandagriff, and Jell (Vandagriff) Collins and spouse Adam; her brothers, Floyd King, and Clarence King; and her Best Friend and Former sister in law turned into life long friend, Helen King; along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

In keeping with Joanna's wishes a Private graveside service will be held at the Skidmore Cemetery in Cranks on Tuesday July 16, 2024.
