Joan Yeary

Joan Stewart Yeary, 84 of Harlan passed away Dec. 7, 2013 at the Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY.

She was born on August 28, 1929, in Owensboro, KY to the late Cora (Duke) & Cody Stewart.

After meeting and marrying Darwin Yeary in 1948, she moved to Harlan. It is here that she became a faithful member of the Harlan United Methodist Church, serving in various leadership roles throughout the years. she was a member of The Harlan United Methodist Womans, The Book Club, and the Harlan Woman's Club. Joan was well known as an employee of the Bank of Harlan for 41 years.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Yeary and one sister.

She is survived by three children: Susan Luebbe (Bob), Mark Yeary (Cindy), and Emily Borders (Gary), seven grandchildren, Adam, Kevin, and Brian Warwick, Rachel Borders, Katie Thompson, and Meredith and Cameron Yeary, one great-grandchild, Samantha Moore, one sister, Carol Mosbey, and a Special and Dear Friend, Lois Pace; she leaves other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 10th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Harlan United Methodist Church.  Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Kyle Burnette officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11th, at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, KY
