Jimmy Skelton

Jimmy Ronald Skelton, 78 of Harlan passed away Tuesday Dec. 10, 2013 at his home.

Jimmy was born Dec. 6, 1935 at Brookside, KY to the late James and Rebecca Blanton Skelton. He was retired from the United States Air Force, and the United States Army as Sergeant First Class. He believed in the Baptist Faith.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Dean Skelton.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Lynn (Melvin) Graham of Harrogate, TN and Teresa (Vernon) Ball of Wallins; grandchildren, Jenny Powers, Jonathan Graham, and Patrick Earl Ball; great grandchildren, Michael Robinson, Gavin Powers, Sydney Powers, Natalie Graham; step children, Greg Crawford, Plainfield, IL, Deborah Adams and Shelia Mejia both of Johnson City, TN; step grandchildren, Christopher Crawford, Cassandra Vusko, Crystal Feltner, Gregory Crawford, II, and Vanessa Miracle; 7 step grandchildren; 5 sisters, Gail King of Knoxville, Marbeth Joseph of Yeaddis, KY, Bobbi Sue Burton of Cincinnati, OH; Judy Head of New Tazewell, TN and Ann Shackleford of Alabama; 3 brothers, Donnie Skelton of Rosspoint, KY, Jerry Skelton of Tazewell, TN and Shelb Skelton of Carolina.

Visitation will be Thursday Dec. 12, 2013 from 5 until 7:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Dec. 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Noe officiating.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Friday Dec. 13, 2013 at the Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins with Military Rites being provided by the Harlan Honor Guard.
