Jimmie Ray Simpson

Jimmie Ray Simpson, 56 of Bledsoe, KY departed this life suddenly on Thursday morning of August 1, 2024 at his home.

Jimmie Ray was born September 25, 1967 in Harlan to Linda Pennington Harris and the late Stanley Simpson. He was coal miner in his younger years but had a true love of logging.

Besides his father he is preceded in death by his son, Jacob Ryan Simpson; step father, James Harris; step brother, Jamie Harris; grandparents, Mavie and Curly Griffiths, May & Clarence Simpson; special aunt, Eunice Sizemore.

He is survived by his mother, Linda of Bledsoe; six children, Scottie and Cassie of Harlan, Sarah and Patrick of Sharps Chapel, TN, Lucas of Harlan, Waylon and Joni of Cumberland, Ryan of Bledsoe and Tegin of Bledsoe; two special kids he loved like his own, Brandon and Brittney Childers; one brother, Billy Roberts of Hoskins, KY; step sister, Angel Posey of Harlan; special nephew, Sheldon Roberts.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Brooklyn, Mahalen, Rylee, Ella, Weston, Raylon, Declon, Hadlee, Rylan and Jaylee; he also leaves a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday (Aug. 3) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Sunday (Aug. 4) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene "Friday" Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in the Albert Morgan Cemetery on Trace Branch in Leslie Co. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
