Jessie Messer

Jessie Lou Messer, 80 of Loyall passed away on Monday January 18, 2021 at the Harlan ARH.
Jessie was born September 5, 1940 in Harlan Co., KY. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed traveling and especially visiting the beach. She loved her family dearly and was an avid U.K. Wildcat and Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Polly Howard Clem; her beloved husband, Bill Messer; brother, Bobby Lee Clem; sister, Vernie Clem; and infant twin siblings; a nephew who was like a brother Rick Clem.
She is survived by her loving son, Tim (Kim) Messer of Baxter; grandchildren, Matthew Messer of Lexington and Lucas Messer of Harlan; brothers, John R. "Elbert" (Kathy) Clem of Cranks, Orville (Judy) Clem of Loyall; sisters, Roxie L. "Launa" Skidmore of Michigan, Nannie Bailey of Wallins, Doris (George) Noe of Harlan, Amie (Randy) Daniels of Cranks; special aunt, Henrietta McMillian of Cawood; sister in law, Peggy Clem of Highpoint, NC; special friends, Virgil Green, Lois Davis, Elsie Lewis, and Terri Kelly; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday (Jan. 21) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. John Carter and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Friday (Jan. 22) at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Messer, Lucas Messer, Jason Clem, John Clem, Will Daniels, Rick Clem.
The family has asked that everyone attending services please wear a facial covering.
Covid-19 Restrictions of 50% of church capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed, the family ask that everyone attending please have a face covering on.
