Jerry Wayne Collett, 67 of Coldiron, KY son of the Shelby Stephens Collett and the late Rufus Collett, entered the Victory Lane surrounded by his loved ones at the home of his son.
Jerry had a love of fast cars and family. He was known to give anyone a run for their money on and off of the race track. He loved spending time with family whether it was racing, trial rides or camping. He had high hopes for the future, but when God called he answered.
Besides his daddy, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Abbie Elizabeth; grandparents, Levi and Tilda Stephens and Abbie and Ed Collett.
Survivors included his mommy, Shelby; sons, Jerry (Elizabeth) Collett, John (Betty Joe) Collett, Wesley Collett and Chad Collett; grandchildren, Brandy (John) Taylor, Sarah, Lucy and Jeremiah Collett; his brothers, Rufus "Boone" (Diane) Collett and Ed (Barbara) Collett; sisters, Cheryl (Danny) Brock and Terry (Jim) Saylor; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Saturday (May 11) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.
Burial will be 1:00 pm Sunday (May 12) follow in the Laymon Cemetery at Coldiron, KY.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Collett, Horrace Detroit Allen, John Collett, Rufus Collett, Ed Collett and Matthew Brock.
