James Gilliam

James B. Gilliam, 90 of Batavia, OH formerly of Evarts, KY passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 in Cincinnati, OH.
He was born May 1, 1926 in Jonesville, VA to the late John Henry and Bessie Lee Fleanor Gilliam. Mr. Gilliam was a retired Baptist Minister after serving for 50 years having served many church’s over those years. Of those 50 years his last stop was 15 years at Market Street Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during WW II.
Besides his parents he was preceded in by his wife, Dorothy Gibbs Gilliam; son Rick Gilliam.
He is survived by his son, James “Jim” Gilliam of Batavia, OH; grandchildren, Heather, Brandon, Hannah, Nathan, and Mary Gilliam; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother, Clyde Gilliam of North Carolina; his sister-in-law, Alice Hurst of Harlan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday (Sept. 3) in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Grills officiating.
He will be laid to rest by his beloved wife in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
Visitation will be 11:00 am until the funeral hour on Saturday (Sept. 3) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
