Granville Garrett Sargent, Sr

   Granville Garrett Sargent, Sr 73 of Ages, KY passed away suddenly on Tuesday morning of August 29, 2023 at his home.
   Granville was born September 14, 1949 in Ages to the late William "Gus" and Gladys North Sargent. He was a coal miner and logger by trade.
   Besides his parents he is preceded in death by 2 sons, Greg Hamblin and Granville Sargent Jr. Brothers, Lloyd and Leroy Sargent; sister, Henrietta Sargent. 
   He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rosetta Sargent of Ages; children, Granville "Bo" Sargent of Harlan, Shane (Kayla) Sargent of Harlan, David Saylor of Harlan, Darren Hamblin of Tennessee, Jason Britton of Harlan, Amy (Jeremy) Hensley of Smith; siblings, James Sargent of Ages, Ludie (Charles) Webb of Dayhoit, Carol Baker of Loyall and Ruby Kanger of Florida. Grandchildren: Ryan, Jared, Brantley Kazlyn, Garrett, Gage, Carson and Kira a very special Nephew Dennis Jones. Special friends: Roger White, Dave Smith, James Napier, Robert "Cobb" Smith and Johnny Johnson; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
    Visitation will be 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Friday (September 1) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Pace Jr officiating. 
    Burial will follow in the Sargent Family Cemetery at Ages, KY.
    Pallbearers will be Jared Hensley, Brantley McQueen, Jake Sargent, Gus Sargent, Dennis Jones, Johnny Johnson, Garrett Sargent and David Sargent. 
    Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane Sargent, Bo Sargent and Ryan Middleton.
