Glen Henry Brown, age 78, formerly of Bledsoe, KY passed away peacefully on October 30, 2016 at his home in Wasilla, Alaska.
Glen was born in Calloway, Kentucky on September 24, 1938 to William Taylor and Nancy (Creech) Brown, who preceded him in death along with his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Virginia Brown. Glen is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Percy and Freddie Brown, of Bledsoe, KY as well as many nieces and nephews.
He served his country in the US Navy and further served by contracting with the US Air Force on its White Alice Communications System. Glen was a longtime resident of the state of Alaska where he lived a life of quiet adventure, enjoying the outdoors and scenic beauty hand painted by God Himself. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and skillfully provided telephone services to the citizens of Alaska, even in areas most remote. Glen was true and faithful to his family and friends. Despite his bouts with illness and injury, he viewed death as his next great adventure. Bravely and quietly, he went home to be with the Lord. Glen Brown made a difference in this world and he will be missed.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at the Brown Cemetery in Bledsoe, KY. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
