George Richard Jackson Jr., age 56, of Lake in the Hills formerly of Wallins, KY, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Centegra Hospital - Woodstock.
He was born June 26, 1957 in Wallins Creek, Kentucky to George R. Sr. and Betty (North) Jackson. On November 18, 1989, he married Carol Gapinski in Crystal Lake.

He enjoyed fishing, and also playing baseball. George was an avid fan of his daughter Jen’s basketball games in high school and college, and more recently, following her games as a basketball coach. His family was very dear to him, as he was to his family. He enjoyed his role of grandfather, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his 5th grandchild.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Carol; seven children, Christina (Ben) Bahnsen of Harvard, John (Cassie) Nichols of Spring Grove, Danielle (Tony) Nichols-Galvan of Lake in the Hills, Jennifer (Andrew) Nichols-Hogle of Lake in the Hills, Theresa Jackson of Rockford, Clinton Jackson of Richmond, and Allison Jackson of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Brady, Benny, Molly, and Joe; a sister, Jerlean (the late Everette) Jones; and three brothers, Frank (Shari) Jackson, William Jackson, and Clay (Maryann) Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, Kentucky.
Interment will be in Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins Creek, Kentucky.
