Eugene Edward Douglas

Eugene Edward Douglas, 86 of Harlan passed away Tuesday afternoon of January 23, 2024 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Eugene was born February 18, 1937 in Harlan, KY to the late Fred and Lily Osborne Douglas. He lived in Harlan, KY for most of his life. He believed in the Pentecostal faith, and attended Harlan Church of Christ. He was always concerned about if you were saved and going to church. He done construction work for many years. Eugene was apart of the Hardees breakfast crew and a true Trump man. 

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Faye Muncy Douglas; son; Freddie Douglas; and his brothers, David and Carroll Douglas. 

He is survived by his sons; Darrell (Kari) Douglas, Danny (Lindsey) Douglas, and Jeff Muncy, his daughter; Rhena Wilson, daughter-in-law; Melinda Douglas, grandchildren; Daulton Engle, Dillon Engle, Devin Douglas, Kadyn Douglas, Joseph Douglas, Eliana Douglas, Jonathan Muncy, Henry Branson, and Nathan Short, and a host of great-grandchildren, step-brother; LC (Sharon) Brown, his pastor & very special friend; Ronnie Dale Shackleford, and friend; Carl Ed Giles. 

Visitation will be Sunday (Jan. 28) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will follow on Sunday (Jan. 28) at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Dale Shackleford officiating. 

Graveside services will be Monday (Jan. 29) at 11:00 AM in the Resthaven Cemetery. The family asks everyone to meet at the cemetery just prior to the service.
