Etta Owens

Etta Elizabeth Owens, 90 of Lenarue passed peaceful into  the arms of her Lord & Savior on Thursday morning of August 27, 2020.

Etta is remembered for her work at “The Grill” at Mary Helen Coal Company. She was a great cook and fed many miners a good meal. Likewise, she fed her family with meal fit for a king. She was a member of the Mary Helen United Methodist Church.

Etta was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Cecil Raymond, fondly known as CR; parents Ernest and Surilda Arnold; her grandson, Kyle Raymond Owens; three Sisters, Viola Guthrie, Cleo Suchara, Lida Jean Gutierrez; two brothers, Charles Arnold and Junior Arnold.

Those left to grieve her passing are three sons, whom she loved dearly, Ernest and wife Jan, Jimmy and wife Ella, Darrell and wife Jennifer; 3 grandchildren who were the apple of her eye,  Faith Baughman and husband Travis of Dearborn Michigan, Madison S. Owens of Harlan, and Braden A. Owens of Tazewell Tennessee. . She was excited to be a great grandmother, to baby Owens, in March 2021, thanks to her precious granddaughter, Madison Owens; special brother in law, Paul Guthrie of Baileyton, TN; She leaves 3 very special friends, Kim Miller Owens, Bonnie Deaton, and Lesley Marlin.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday (August 30) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Monday in the Chapel of the  Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Clem and Rev. Jeff Craig officiating.

Burial will follow in the Surgener's Amazing Grace Cemetery at Cranks, KY with Braden Owens, Coby Kirby, Denny Million, Rick Howard, Tim Robinson and Charles Sizemore serving as Pallbearers.
