Elmer W. Johnson, Jr. went to his Heavenly home on Saturday December 16, 2017 at the age of 69. He was a retired coal miner. He believed in the Holiness faith and attended Ages Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Junior was born July 30, 1948 to the late Elmer W. Johnson Sr. and Pauline Collins Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Freda Johnson; daughter, Pamela Foley; sister, Phyllis; brothers, Paul, Harm, Birchell, and Harold.
Left to mourn his passing is his sisters, Wanda and friend James; Vanda and her boys, Harley and James; his children, Melissa (Matthew) Hubbard, Steven (Keara) Johnson, Nannette (Larry) Vick, Billy (Bridgit) Day; he leaves a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as other family members.
The family wants to give a special thanks to his neighbors, Vinson Farmer, Jason, Katie, and TJ Saylor, Tammy and Joel Howard, Tim and Connie Engle, and Carol Farmer. Special thanks to Bluegrass Hospice Care for all that they did during his illness.
Visitation will be Monday (Dec. 18) after 6:00 pm at the Ages Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am on Tuesday (Dec. 19) at the Ages Free Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jesse Kinder and Rev. Doug Daniel officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery at Rosspoint, KY.
