Edward Warren Black, 68 of Gulston, passed away on Friday November 19th, 2021.
Ed was born in Detroit Michigan on December 9th, 1952 to Gladys and Ross Black. Edward was employed by KCEOC, was former owner and operator of Ed's Auto Body, and former Chief of the Loyall Fire Department, and had served as assistant Fire Chief of Harlan Fire Department and attended the Liggett Baptist Church.
His favorite saying was "
that's all the damage I can do
".
Besides his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his beloved sister Joann.
Ed is survived by his wife Kathy of 43 years, two daughters, Shannon and husband Chris Haase, of Nicholasville. Sheryl Black of Knoxville, two sons Bobby and wife Heather Burkhart of Harlan. Brad Burkhart of Harlan. Six grandchildren Autumn Sweet, Benjamin Sweet of Knoxville, Katelyn Burkhart of Lexington, Allyssa, Adam, and Gabi Burkhart of Harlan. And three special friends Eddie Ledford, Derrick Isom, and Brian Smith.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm-7:00 pm (Nov. 21) at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Cornett officiating.
Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday at Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet by the funeral home at 12:30 pm to go in funeral procession to the cemetery.
