Earl Burgan

Earl Burgan, 89 of Harlan, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, KY, surrounded by family.  Earl was born on March 7th, 1929 in Harlan, KY to the late Lee Burgan and Dora Noe Burgan. He was a lifelong and well known painting contractor, having painted numerous homes and businesses in Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. Earl was a Christian and was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. He was a hardworking man who loved his family and loved the Lord. He found his greatest joy in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Dora Burgan, his brother Lee Burgan, Jr. and his former wife and mother of his children, Netta Burgan Mantz. Earl is survived by his son Bobby and wife Kim, daughter Earlene Burgan Hucks and husband Michael, grandchildren Kristy Burgan Smallwood and husband Foley, Adrienne Hucks, Erin Hucks and husband Andy, Stella Hucks, and Justin Burgan; Great-grandchildren Patrick Smallwood and wife Jamie, Hunter Smallwood, Morgan Smallwood, Justin Burgan and Brianna Burgan as well as many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Earl will be at Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, KY on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 with visitation from 2:00 until 4:00.

Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. William Boyd Bingham and Rev. Donnie Adkisson officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 17th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
