Doyle Baker

Doyle Baker, 70 of Putney passed away Tuesday April 2, 2013 at his home.

Doyle was born December 19, 1942 to the late Hugh L. and Mossie Starrett Baker. He was a retired custodian at the Cawood Elementary School. He believed in the Holiness faith.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Doyle Randall Baker and step grandson, Damian Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sergent Baker of Putney; 4 children, Doyle (Betty) Baker of Cawood, Johnny Baker of Putney, Tammy (Jesse) Kinder of Ages, and Terry (Tammy) Baker of Cawood; 7 step-children, Donna (Jerry) Jones of Putney, Katrina (Kenneth) Gilpin of Elcomb, Dennis (Helen) Jones of Lynch, Danny Jones of Evarts, Jerry (Kathy) Jones of Dione, and Kimberly Burkhart and Lacey Boggs both of Putney; 1 brother, Norman Brassfield of London; 1 sister, Shirley (Press) Craig of Pathfork. He leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren to survive. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Mountain Heritage care team, Jim, Tracey, and Barbara.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5 until 9:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2013 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Collins officiating.

Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery on Little Creek in Cawood.
