Doxie Helton, 78 of Bailey Hill community of Harlan passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap, VA.
Doxie was born June 17, 1937 in Harlan, KY and was retired clerk with the Harlan Water Works. After retirement she helped her husband “Bull” Helton sell produce in the community of Harlan. She was a member of the Kelly Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Howard Brown; husband Elhanon “Bull” Helton; granddaughter, Katie Bargo; brothers, Jerry and Jim Brown.
She is survived by her children, Carla “Shawn” Bargo of Cawood; Harold Stephen “Steve” Helton of Cumberland; grandchildren, Amanda Bargo and boyfriend, Bryan Harris of Barbourville, KY, Jake (Ashley) Bargo of Harlan, Shayla and Kayla Fluker of Harlan; great grandchildren, Brody and Blakely Harris of Barbourville, KY. 3 brothers, Larry “Bo” (Debbie) Brown of Eubank, KY, Wendell (Sara) Brown of Somerset, KY and Ernie (Glenda) Brown of Brodhead, KY; 3 sisters, Edna (Jim) Logsdon of Indiana, Joan (George) Kemper of Somerset, KY, Nancy (Bobby) Hart of Somerset, KY; She leaves her special friends and neighbors of Bailey Hill to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday (July 8) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
