Douglas McArthur Caldwell, 71 of Jacksonville, FL formerly of Harlan Co. passed away on Monday September 7, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksoville, FL.
Doug was born October 22, 1948 in Stinnett, KY to the late Henry and Loria Whitehead Caldwell. He was a Veteran of the United States Airforce having served during the Vietnam War. He is retired maintenance worker for River Point Health and Behavioral Center, he had previously worked as a coal miner before going to Jacksonville. He was a member of the Restoration Church of God in Jacksonville.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Caldwell; sisters, Jean Ward, Nannie Farmer, Fern Robinette, Wanda Hacker, and Marie Hansford.
He is survived by his loving wife Panda Russell Caldwell; sons, Douglas Dean (Tara) Caldwell, Derrick McKenzie (Alicia) Caldwell; daughter, Ashley Rachel (Joshua) Coldewe all of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Haley, Jacob, Nathaniel, Lucas Caldwell, and Iliana Coldewe; brothers, Henry L. Caldwell, and Billy Ray Caldwell; sisters, Opal Asher, Laura Ward, Betty Miller, Bonnie Stewart, and Loretta Stephens; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Tuesday (Sept. 15) at the Coldiron Church of God Mountain Assembly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday (Sept. 16) at 12:00 pm at the Church with Rev. Jack Carmical officiating.
Burial will follow in the Park Howard Cemetery at Wallins with Military Rites being observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Covid-19 Restrictions of 50% of our capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed.
