Donald Arvin
November 28, 1957 — January 14, 2017
Donald E. Arvin, 59 of Baxter entered through the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born November 28, 1957 in Harlan, KY to the late Fred & Christine Laws Arvin. He worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation for 17 years until his illness caused him to leave. He was a former member of the Harlan Co. Rescue Squad Unit 121, Loyall Fire Dept, Harlan Co. Amateur Radio Club, Ham radio operator KM4FT, assistant Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lynn Arvin.
He is survived by his brother, Randall (Phyllis) Arvin; his wife of 34 years, Sandra Lankford Arvin; 3 sons, Brian (Gloria) Arvin, Brandon Arvin, Scotty Arvin; his daughter, Rhonda Arvin; 2 granddaughters, Janlynn Arvin and his pride and joy, Baylee Kay Arvin (Beatle Bug); step grandson, Syric; special nephew and niece, Wilson and Faithann Muncy; a special friend that felt like a son to Don, Big John Buell.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday (Jan. 17) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Daniels officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday (Jan. 18) at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith.
Pallbearers will be Hollace Wilson, John Buell, James Muncy, Michael Middleton, John Whisman, Mike Grubbs, Brandon Kelly, and Brandon Short.
