Delores Howard Hickey

Delores Howard Hickey, 88 of Loyall, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord on March 29, 2025.

She was born July 31, 1936 to the late George Dewey Howard and Rosa Lea Howard of Baxter, Kentucky.

Delores was a Honorary Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Harlan Order of Eastern Star where she served as an associate matron, Worthy Matron at Loyall Chapter. She was a member of the Kentucky State Police Professional Association, a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Rosspoint Homemakers and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alford Clark Hickey, her son, Paul Steven Hickey, and her daughter, Julia Louise Cain.

She leaves behind her daughters, Renee Lazega of Miami, Florida and Allyson Hickey (John) Threadgill of Loyall, Kentucky. Her grandchildren; Aaron and Noah Lazega of Miami, Florida, Tanner and Paige Hickey of Loyall, Kentucky, Abby and Ricky Witt of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dillon and Brooke Cain of Loyall, Kentucky. One step grandson, Erik (Casey) Cain of Knoxville, Tennessee. Her great-grandchildren; Raven Lazega, Tilleigh and Titan Cain, Makeena and Madalyn Witt. One sister, Norma Howard of Georgia. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clark Hickey and her son, Paul Steven Hickey after a private service at Resthaven Cemetery.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators 2972 S. US HWY 25E, Barbourville, Kentucky 40906 in memory of Delores.
