Claudetta Cavins

  Claudetta Cavins, 81 of Mary Alice, KY passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday afternoon of December 9, 2023.
  Claudetta was born September 16, 1942 in Harlan, KY. She was a homemaker and was a devoted Christian who believed in the Pentecostal Faith. She had a love for animals, singing in church, playing the piano, quilting , crocheting and never missed a chance to go shopping.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambries Smith, Sr and Cora Long Smith; her maternal mother Mary Dean; brothers, Rick Smith, Pearl Dean, Monroe Smith, and Frelin Smith; her sister, Ellen Marie Smith.
   She is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, Floyd Cavins; her children, Tony (Debbie) Cavins, Linda (Tim) Hensley, Floyd Cavins, Jr, Lisa Cavins Turner and Mark Cavins; grandchildren, Alex Cavins, Larissa (Joseph) Tribble, Jessica Turner and Nicolas Turner; her great granddaughter, Rylee Belcher; she leaves a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. 
   Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday (Dec. 13) at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Nick Noe officiating. Burial will then follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY family will serve as Pallbearers. 
   The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice (Especially Tina and Bridget) for the love, care and support shown during this time of illness.
   In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 2972 S. US Highway 25E, Barbourville, KY 40906 in memory of Mrs. Cavins.
