Charlie Brewer, 72 of Cawood passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at his home.

Charlie was born Sept. 12, 1943 in Cawood to the late Bailey and Bertha Irvin Brewer. He was a retired coal miner from New Horizon Coal Company with 35 years of service. He enjoyed four wheeling and camping.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Hiram Calvin Brewer, Eugene Brewer, Herb Brewer; his in laws, Gilbert and Jincie Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Geneva Brewer; children, Donna (Clark) Stanton of Cawood, Charles Ray (Tracy) Brewer of Harrogate, TN, Lynn Brewer of Loyall, Pheby (Tim) Evans of Baxter; he was more than just a grandfather, he was a father figure to his grandchildren, Alex (Jennifer) Stanton, Dylan Brewer, Jordy Brewer,  Madison Brewer, Bailey and Shelby Brewer, Timothy Evans, Brandon (Brandi) Evans, Dustin (Ashley) Evans; great grandchildren, Teagan Brewer, Andrea Napier, Ava Stanton, Ashton and Hunter Evans; brothers, Wilse (Etta) Brewer, and Jack (Larvenia) Brewer; lifelong friends, Jack Thompson, Matthew Smith (Brother-in-law), and George Grubbs; sister-in-laws, Monique Brewer, Loretta Brewer, Linda Brewer, Jane (Matthew) Smith, Helen Daniel, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Burns; a host of nieces and nephews also survive, including 4 nephews he thought of like sons, John and Michael Carroll, Terry Smith, and Andy Brewer.

Visitation will be Saturday (Dec. 26) from 5 until 8:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday (Dec. 27) at the Cawood Church of God Mountain Assembly with Rev. Franklin Stewart and Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating.

Burial will follow in the Irvin Cemetery at Little Creek in Cawood with Grandsons and Nephews serving as Pallbearers.
